Staff is proposing an almost $230-million spending plan, up about three per cent from last year.
Just over half of the spending will be done by the Community and Human Services department.
The draft 2026 tax levy increase works out to 5.37 per cent. Last year’s levy increase was 4.67 per cent.
Hastings County administers paramedic services, Ontario Works, child care, long-term care, and homeless supports for 14 small municipalities, along with Belleville and Quinte West.
