The Wellington Dukes and Haliburton County Huskies played all the hockey they could legally play and the game still ended in a tie.
After double overtime the game ended at four goals apiece.
The Huskies did all of their scoring in the first and second periods while the Dukes waited until the third to get on the scoreboard.
Aiden Lee netted two for the Dukes, with Justin Doak and Cole Ellis getting singles.
In OJHL action Sunday the Trenton Golden Hawks travel to North York for a 2:30 start.
And on Family Day it’s another edition of the Battle of Quinte with Wellington in Trenton, also at 2:30.
In Jr. C action on Saturday, Frankford shut out Trent Hills 7-0 while Port Hope blanked Picton 3-0.
On Sunday it’s Trent Hills in Lakefield at 4:30 while Frankford will be in Amherstview at 7:30.
In the first round of Northern Premier League’s best-of-three playoff series on Saturday, the Deseronto Bulldogs got by Wellington County 6-5 in overtime while the Tweed Oil Kings rolled over the Westport Lumberjacks 8-3.
On Sunday, Westport will be in Tweed for game two. It starts at 2:30.
