Hastings County’s Emergency Services Committee has reviewed the department’s 2026 budget.
During Wednesday’s committee meeting, councillors had a chance to review the budget for the coming year. The total levy for the department is $14,110,636. This is after factoring revenue such as provincial funding or payments from municipalities for ambulance service.
Overall, the levy was increased by 7.68% relative to 2025’s budget. The budget report cited increased staffing costs as a primary factor in the increase, as the department recently expanded it’s staff.
After a brief discussion, the committee approved the budget, and sent it on to Hastings County Council for final approval.
