Belleville City Council received an overview of the 2026 operating budget at its meeting on Monday.
A presentation delivered by Director of Finance/Treasurer Brandon Ferguson, outlined the tax impact for the five tax tables in the municipality, including Belleville Urban, Belleville Rural, Cannifton Urban, Cannifton Rural, and Cannifton Rural to Urban.
The annual increase, based on a $250,000 residential assessment, would be broken down as follows:
- Belleville Urban – 5.32% – $257
- Belleville Rural – 4.85% – $173
- Cannifton Urban – 5.27% – $244
- Cannifton Rural – 6.26% – $266
- Cannifton Rural to Urban – 7.28% – $313
Deliberations on the operating budget in a special council meeting is set for February 25 at 9 a.m.
