The Town of Greater Napanee is reaching out to residents who may have inadvertently received an extra set of garbage bag tags in the mail.
In a release, the town says that as part of the special tax levy for the curbside collection of garbage, taxpayers receive 50 bag tags per year.
Due to an error in the town’s computer system, up to 106 households may have received an extra set of bag tags by mistake.
That equates to approximately 1.7% of all residential households.
Town staff are in the process of contacting affected residents to arrange the return of the extra bag tags.
