The Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, the County Royals of the Northern Premier Hockey League (Senior A), and other community members helped to support great causes over the weekend.
On Sunday, on the shores of West Lake/Lake Ontario, more than a dozen people did a polar plunge during bitter temperatures.
Athletic therapist/trainer of the Wellington Dukes Caitlin McCuaig helped organize the event at Pounders Waterfront Pub and Patio.
McCuaig, who also jumped, says numerous organizations and individuals made donations to the cause, including the Belleville Senators.
Although final numbers are not yet known, thousands of dollars have been raised, with the money being split between the County Auxiliary Rescue Team and the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
