The province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate following an arrest in Lennox and Addington County.
On November 12, 2025 shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the Lennox and Addington County OPP responded to a report of an unwanted person causing a disturbance. When police arrived, they located and arrested a man. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
The accused had indicated at the time that he had suffered an injury during the interaction. The SIU was notified, but they declined to investigate at the time.
The SIU has now invoked their mandate and have begun an investigation into the incident.
