Quinte West council will begin 2 days of budget deliberations Wednesday.
As proposed the draft budget features an average residential tax increase of 4.99 percent.
On an average home assessed at $250,000 that increase would mean almost $200.00 a year more in local taxes.
About half of the increase is due to investment in capital projects.
Last year’s budget increase was just under 6 percent.
Quinte West council’s two day budget discussions start at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Residents can view the meetings live on the City’s YouTube channel starting at 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day: https://www.youtube.com/@City_Of_Quinte_West
