It looked like the Wellington Dukes and Lindsay Muskies were going to have to put in a little Sunday overtime but thanks to Ben Vreugdenhil, it was not necessary.
The Frankford native broke a three- all tie at 19:07 of the third period to lift Wellington over Lindsay 4-3.
It was Vreugdenhil’s 19th of the season.
Cory Jewitt (22nd), Sacha Trudel (16th) and Ryan Schaap (25th) also scored in the win.
Wellington is home again Tuesday night when they host the Haliburton Huskies at 7 p.m.
Golden Hawks look for revenge
The last time the Trenton Golden Hawks lost a game was exactly one month ago – January 3, 6-3 to the Cobourg Cougars.
Nine straight wins later, these teams meet again tonight (Monday), this time in Cobourg.
With a win over the second-place Toronto Junior Canadiens on Friday night it’s likely Trenton will hold on to the number one ranking in the country when the CJHL releases their weekly top 20 list later today (Monday).
