A domestic dispute led to a large police presence in the far north end of Belleville late Wednesday afternoon.
Belleville police received a report about a domestic incident around 5 o’clock and learned that a man was seen walking away from a residence with a firearm in the area of Highway 37 and Roslin Road.
Several officers, including OPP, were called to the scene for a search.
A suspect, a 25-year-old man from Belleville who will not be identified, was located inside a nearby house and surrendered to police.
He was charged with assault with a weapon, breach of probation and other charges.
The woman involved was not seriously injured.
