A man was killed in a collision on Old Highway 2 in Quinte West.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Quite West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian on Old Highway 2 just west of Montrose Road.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a male in his 70s from Belleville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Old Highway 2 remained closed between Aikins Road and Montrose Road until around 2 a.m. Sunday for the investigation with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams.
