A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old Tweed man wanted for second-degree murder.
Back on March 6, at around 9:50 a.m., Durham Regional Police responded to an address on Court Street in Oshawa after receiving a call for assistance from Oshawa Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. One person was located deceased in the home.
The person’s death was ruled a homicide.
Police are searching for 37-year-old Josh Bickle for second-degree murder.
Police say Bickle is currently on charges for a violent sexual assault and is required to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet.
Investigators say they have evidence that Bickle removed his monitoring bracelet. They are asking for the public’s help locating him.
Bickle is known to frequent the Belleville and Tweed areas. He is also said to have ties to Oshawa as well as the east coast provinces.
Durham Regional Police are urging Bickle to contact counsel and turn himself in to police.
Police say anyone who is found to be assisting Bickle in evading police is guilty of an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada “and will be prosecuted to the full extent.”
