Area fire departments will be busy this week promoting fire safety in their communities during Fire Prevention Week.
At Belleville council’s meeting Tuesday, Fire Inspector Kyle Christopher said firefighters will be visiting schools in the city to educate students on the importance of taking precautions against fire.
He also highlighted an Open House to be held this Saturday at fire headquarters at Bettes and Station Streets.
” … got the fire safety house there, a fire extinguisher trainer, tours of the fire trucks, so we’d like to encourage everyone who can make it to attend.”
The Open House will run from 10 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon Saturday and will feature a BBQ as well.
