Local schools are gearing up for the the Ontario High School Track and Field championships in Ottawa next month.
Many athletes were in Brockville Friday for the 45th Annual Hungerford Burnbrae Classic.
Aiden Crawford of Eastside Secondary School continued his undefeated season with three gold medals. Crawford won the junior boys’ shot put, javelin and discus.
Crawford is a member of the Quinte Legion Lynx Track Club. He has won all 14 events across the six meets this spring.
Three members of the East Northumberland Blue Dragons were winners in Brockville: Brayden Clark in the senior boys’ long jump, Lily de Wal in the novice girls’ 300-metre hurdles and Jawin Jeyapirakas in the novice boys’ 300-hurdles.

Next up is the Bay of Quite Championship this Wednesday (May 17) at the Bruce Faulds Track at Mary Ann Sills Park.
Qualifiers advance to COSSA May 25, also in Belleville.
