It has been more than three years since the last Empire Square Live event. The good news is that that is about to change.
Tuesday evening at The Empire Theatre in downtown Belleville, owner Mark Rashotte announced the Welcome Home Weekend at Empire Square Live. It goes Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18.

Saturday night will be a celebration that is bittersweet. All You Need Is Love will perform their final show ever.
“Almost to the day, it is the 22nd anniversary of when we played our first show and on top of that, this is our final show as All You Need Is Love.”
Rashotte says their set will consist of their favourites, including The Beatles, The Who, and much more. Opening the night will be Miss Emily, followed by Classic Albums Live who will perform the best of CCR.

The City of Belleville contributed $10,000 towards the cost of the September 18 evening, with all the funds raised going to support the Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation.
Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk spoke about councils support.
“The last 18 months have been difficult as we all know. I think it has taught us a lot about what’s important in our lives. Our family, our health, our jobs, our city. It’s also shown us by taking away from us, what is also important, which is arts and culture and heritage and getting together.”
