The number of active COVID-19 cases in Hastings Prince Edward is back down to under 100 for the first time since last month.
HPE Public Health is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 in the area today, along with 16 recoveries, for an active total of 97.
Four of the new cases were found in Belleville, three in Centre Hastings, two in North Hastings and one each in Quinte West and Deseronto.
Seven of the new cases were transmitted through close contact, one has been attributed to travel and three transmission causes are pending.
Four of the new cases have been found in males in the 19 – 29 age group.
Twelve people are still in hospital with four in the ICU and two patients currently on ventilators.
53,889 vaccine doses have been delivered, with 3,642 people or 2% of the area’s population, considered to be fully vaccinated.
The HKPR Health Unit hadn’t updated its dashboard for Northumberland County at the time this story was posted.
