People wanting to go to parks and playgrounds should feel free to do so.
On Saturday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford reversed a Friday decision to close playgrounds as part of a package of tough new regulations to try and slow the spread of COVID-19.
Playgrounds throughout the Quinte region should be open as usual today.
Earlier Saturday the provincial government dropped a regulation that had been announced Friday, allowing police to stop and question anyone, after a public backlash and announcements from various police services, including Belleville’s, that they would not be using those new powers out of respect for the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
