There was a downward trend in the COVID-19 numbers reported in Hastings Prince Edward, and Northumberland counties Saturday.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported nine new COVID cases and with 28 recoveries since Friday, the number of active infections dropped to 115.
Four of the new cases reported Saturday were in Belleville, two in Quinte West, one in the Tyendinaga/Deseronto area, and one in Prince Edward County.
Thirteen people remained in hospital for treatment of the illness with six of those being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit.
The total number of infections caused by Variants of Concern is 212, up five from Friday.
Meanwhile in Northumberland County, just nine new COVID-19 cases were reported Saturday, down from 22 cases on Friday.
There are now 118 active cases in Northumberland.
