Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service from August 31, 2020 at 5 a.m. to September 1, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Collision
On August 31, 2020 at 10 a.m., Belleville police were called to a three-vehicle collision on Sidney Street and Bell Boulevard. No injuries were reported and one of the vehicles was undriveable. As a result of the investigation, one of the drivers was charged with following too closely.
Suspended driver
On August 31, 2020 at 12 p.m., Belleville police conducted a vehicle stop on Bridge Street east. The 56-year-old Belleville resident was determined to be a suspended driver. He was charged and given an October 5 court date.
Intoxication
On August 31, 2020 at 1:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a business on Front Street regarding an intoxicated male. The male was located and determined to be highly intoxicated. The 28-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested for his own protection and held until sober.
Shoplifter
On August 31, 2020 at 7:45 p.m., Belleville police responded to Canadian Tire on Bell Boulevard regarding a shoplifting incident. As a result of the investigation 38-year-old Matthew Deshane of Marlbank was charged with theft and released with an October 1 court date.
