The months of April and May in the Quinte region were mirror opposites.
April was colder and much wetter than is usual while last month was warmer and much drier than normal.
While the data is incomplete, Environment Canada reports around 32 mm of rain fell in May, less than half the
usual 78mm.
In April, 167 mm fell, more than double the normal amount.
Meanwhile the average high last month was almost 22 degrees celsius, above the usual 18 degrees.
The average low was close to 9 degrees, a little warmer than the norm for the month of May which is 7 degrees.
