It may have been a holiday for many but not Wellington Dukes General Manager Ryan Woodward.
He added 3 defencemen and a forward to the roster of the OJHL team yesterday. That includes 6’5″ rearguard Nick Durajlija who has played the last two seasons with Brantford 99ers of the Greater Ontario League. The 18 year old Durajlija was drafted by the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers in 2015.
Eighteen year old Bedford Nova Scotia native Brett Thorne joins the Dukes from Ridley College in St. Catherines. Thorne was drafted by the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League which is the alma mater of Sidney Crosby.
Nineteen year old “D” Alec Tiley comes to Wellington from the Listowell Cyclones. Wellington also acquired 19 year old forward Andrew Rinaldi of Montreal. Rinaldi’s older brother Anthony is a former member of the Kingston Voyageurs.
The Dukes training camp opens August 19th.
