While students have been enjoying their new home at Trent River Public School for a few weeks, the ribbon was officially cut on the 55,000 square foot building Wednesday.
Members of the Hastings Prince Edward School Board and school staff took part in a special ceremony at the Dixon Drive school.
Trent River Public has amalgamated students from Breadner Elementary and College Street Public Schools.
The school includes 22 classrooms to house about 500 students from kindergarten to grade eight, as well as work space for 50 staff members.
