The 2016 Poppy Campaign is paying off for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78 has donated $3,000 to the foundation, from the nearly $18,000 collected from poppy sales during November last year.
The money will go towards the hospital’s ongoing $250,000 “Picture of Health Campaign”, which includes a new Heartstart defibrillator for the inpatient unit.
That equipment alone has a $14,200 price tag.
The donation brings the total given to the foundation, from Branch 78, to $14,450 since 1999.
