When the world speaks to you – you answer.
Paul Abraham, the man known as The Unicycle Guy said it was in that moment after playing lego with nine-year-old Michael at SickKids in Toronto that he knew he was meant to be a helper. See little Michael was battling brain cancer and “no child should have to go through that.”
So the 25-year-old from Toronto who had been using his unicycle to commute to work and entertain decided it was time to put those skills to another use – charity.
Fast forward, four years later and The Unicycle Guy is still peddling for SickKids. For two days now, he’s been on a 447 kilometre adventure peddling roughly 80 kilometres a day from Ottawa on his way back to his hometown. Thursday he stopped in Belleville.
Unique it is and a challenge too.
Wind is his enemy he explained, as it can get up to 50 kilometres an hour in some areas.
