The issue of repairs to Belleville’s police headquarters, which caused a storm of controversey during budget deliberations this week, is not about to go away. Everyone seemed to agree police headquarters needs the proposed 100-thousand dollar health and safety repairs it was a matter of getting around regulations governing the police budget and the city auditing. Police Services Board Chair Councillor Bob Dolan says the matter may end up with the Ontario Civilian Commission on Police Services that has power to “order” the city to pay up. Dolan says this could amount to more than the 100-thousand dollars. Councillor Pat Culhane intends to bring the issue back to City Council by the end of April.
