Northumberland OPP charged a second person in connection with an investigation that began after a collision in Trent Hills.
On August 30, 2026 at around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Concession Road 13 East.
Two people fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
A subsequent investigation by police found that the involved pickup truck had been reported stolen from Durham Region in 2021 and was displaying licence plates registered to a different vehicle at the time of the collision.
As a result of an ongoing investigation, one person was charged on October 6, 2026.
Further investigative efforts led Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit members to a property in Havelock, where officers recovered a stolen enclosed trailer and a stolen side-by-side off-road vehicle.
The items had been reported stolen from a location in Madoc in August 2026.
Investigators were able to identify a second individual believed to be connected to the recovered stolen property after an appeal to the public.
As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Adam Livingstone of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was arrested on Wednesday and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in December 2026.
