Between October 2 and October 7, 2026, multiple packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized at Collins Bay Institution.
The items seized included tobacco, marijuana, “shatter” (cannabis concentrate), crystal methamphetamine, hashish, morphine, and drug paraphernalia, as well as cell phones and accessories.
The estimated institutional value of these seizures is $145,045.
Correctional Service of Canada uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions.
These tools include ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
