Results have been released from the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).
For the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board, it found that 58 per cent of students in Grade 3 were at or above the provincial standard for Mathematics, 69 per cent for Reading, and 59 per cent for Writing.
Mathematics and Reading were down three per cent from the year before, while Writing was up one per cent.
For Grade 6, Mathematics were found to be at 45 per cent, Reading was at 82 per cent, and Writing was at 81 per cent.
Mathematics and Writing saw a drop of one per cent from the year before while Reading saw no loss or gain.
Finally for Grade 9, the only score was for Mathematics which was found to be at 45 per cent, a drop from 46 per cent the year before.
On the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test for first-time Grade 10 students, about 76 per cent of students were deemed to have successfully passed the test.
When it comes to the Algonquin and Lakeshore District School Board, test scores found that 63 per cent of students in Grade 3 were at or above the provincial standard for Mathematics, 75 per cent for Reading, and 66 per cent for Writing.
All three categories saw increases from the year previous.
For Grade 6, Mathematics were found to be at 39 per cent, Reading was at 85 per cent, and Writing was at 87 per cent.
Mathematics saw a drop of three per cent from the year before, while Reading saw no loss or gain and Writing saw an increase of four per cent from the year before.
For Grade 9, Mathematics was found to be at 48 per cent, a drop from 51 per cent the year before.
On the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test for first-time Grade 10 students, about 86 per cent of students were deemed to have successfully passed the test.
Provincially, math scores on the EQAO tests for Grade 6 students in particular have been hovering around the 50 per cent mark for years, meaning only about half of the students are meeting the provincial standard.
Results released today for testing from the 2025-26 school year show that 52 per cent of Grade 6 students met the provincial standard, while 65 per cent of Grade 3 students and 59 per cent of Grade 9 students met the standard.
All of those scores are up one percentage point from the previous year.
The amount of Grade 3 students who met reading and writing standards was 75 and 67 per cent, respectively, up slightly from the previous year, and the amount of Grade 6 students who met reading and writing standards was 86 and 85 per cent, respectively, the same as the previous year.
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test typically written in Grade 10 saw 86 per cent of first-time eligible students meet the standard, one percentage point higher than the previous year.
