There was a shooting incident at or near Sons of Jacob Synagogue on Victoria Avenue early Sunday evening.
Witnesses tell Quinte News many gunshots were heard sometime before 7 p.m.
Police vehicles and officers in numbers responded to the scene.
Unconfirmed reports indicate Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services took at least two people, an officer and a suspect, to hospital.
Police remain on scene as an investigation continues.
