A police investigation has led to a vehicle stop resulting in three people facing extensive drug and weapon related charges.
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, just before 3:00 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, conducted a vehicle stop on Thomas Street in the Town of Greater Napanee. Three individuals were arrested and following a search of the vehicle, police located just over 110 grams of suspected cocaine, just over three grams of suspected fentanyl, just over six grams of suspected methamphetamine, just over $2,000 in Canadian currency, two knives and an expandable metal baton. Officers also seized cell phones, scales and materials associated with drug trafficking.
Cody BROOKS, a 31-year-old from Napanee was charged with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of weapon contrary to a prohibition order
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device
Darlene BROOKS, a 58-year-old from Napanee was charged with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with a probation order
Patricia SMITH, a 49-year-old from Napanee was charged with
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with a release order – three counts
All three accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on August 28, 2026.
