The City of Belleville has announced the councillor Sean Kelly has been elected to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Small Urban Caucus.
Kelly was elected on Tuesday during the AMO Annual Conference in Ottawa, earning one of four positions for elected officials on the caucus.
Five candidates were in the running for the four positions.
As a member of the Small Urban Caucus, the city says that Kelly will bring Belleville’s perspective to discussions and work alongside municipal leaders representing small urban communities across Ontario.
Kelly is an employee of Quinte Broadcasting, who owns Quinte News.

The City of Belleville is pleased to congratulate Councillor Sean Kelly on his election to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Small Urban Caucus.
Kelly was elected Aug. 18 during the AMO Annual Conference in Ottawa, earning one of four positions for elected officials on the caucus. Five candidates were in the running for the four positions.
“I am honoured and humbled by the support of my municipal colleagues across Ontario,” said Councillor Sean Kelly. “Small urban municipalities are the backbone of communities across this province, and we have a strong and important voice when it comes to the issues that matter most to our residents.”
