The Centre For Workforce Development is hosting a pair of free Identification & Employment Clinics in Hastings County.
The clinics will help vulnerable, low-income, and unhoused individuals access the identification, employment supports, and community services they need to move forward. The two events will take place in Madoc and Bancroft, following the success of a clinic event in North Hastings during the fall. That event was able to help 30 people with 177 essential services.
The first clinic will be in Madoc on Tuesday, August 18th, at the Madoc Kiwanis Club at 139 St Lawrence St east. The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The second clinic will be at the St. John’s Anglican Church in Bancroft, located at 21 Flint Ave. That clinic will be held on Thursday, August 20th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Eligible attendees can access support with obtaining or replacing key identification documents including birth certificates, Social Insurance Numbers, Ontario Health Cards, and Ontario Photo ID Cards, along with help with employment services, job search assistance, and job training opportunities. Connections to housing supports, income assistance, healthcare, and community programs are also available.
No appointment or registration is required, attendees are encouraged to show up with whatever identification they currently have available including expired documents or photocopies, though this is not required to get help.
