UPDATE: Prince Edward County has lifted its partial burn.
This comes after Environment Canada ended its heat warning for the region on Wednesday afternoon.
Prince Edward County has instituted a partial burn ban in response to rising temperatures.
The new ban takes effect immediately.
Under this ban, a burn permit is required for all open-air burning. Burns are also restricted to a container with a screened top or a small campfire. Consumer fireworks are not permitted while the burn ban is in effect. Propane fuelled appliances such as barbecues are exempt from the ban.
Prince Edward County is also reminding residents that violations of the burn ban may result in a fine and cost recovery for any services rendered by Prince Edward County Fire & Rescue.
