Thousands of people in the region were/are without power overnight (Wednesday night/Thursday morning), following several severe thunderstorms.
It was another wild night in parts of the province for sure, especially in the Ottawa Valley. 126 mm of rain from thunderstorms, again around that so-called ring of fire we have been talking about where you have these clusters that form around high pressure. There could be another cluster of storms moving through parts of our region later this afternoon, this evening, and again tomorrow afternoon, either one of which could produce some strong winds, downpours on a localized basis. Southern Ontario had 170,000 people without power at one time.
