Durham Regional Police say a male is facing charges after a stabbing in Bowmanville.
On Monday, at approximately 5:30 a.m., members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call in the area of Queen Street and Temperance Street. Police were contacted after the victim flagged down a passing motorist. The victim was near Rotary Park when he was stabbed multiple times. Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and provided life-saving care before the victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious condition.
The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable.
A short time later, officers located the suspect in the area of Liberty Street South and Prince Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Theadore Joseph Hall, age 65 from Clarington is charged with: Aggravated Assault, Possess Weapon Dangerous, Assault with a Weapon, Theft Under $5000, and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
He was held for a bail hearing.
