Durham Regional Police have charged a 17-year-old male following a collision investigation that saw several youths injured in Clarington.
On April 15, 2026 at approximately 11 a.m., a westbound Volkswagen hatchback collided with an eastbound Ford SUV on Longworth Avenue near Jackman Road.
As a result of the collision, six youths suffered injuries.
Four were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and two were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.
Following an investigation by the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, the driver of the Volkswagen has been arrested and charged.
A 17-year-old male from Clarington is charged with: impaired operation of a conveyance cause bodily harm – exceed x3.
He was released on an undertaking.
