A Belleville employee has been charged after their employer alleged fraud.
Belleville police initially responded to the report on May 7 regarding an employee theft.
On May 13, the business reported additional information following an internal investigation.
The company determined that the employee had been using a company-issued credit card to purchase personal items while falsely claiming the purchases were for organizational use.
Further investigation revealed the employee charged these purchases to various client trust accounts while retaining the items for personal use.
Thirty-two-year-old Victoria Woods was arrested and charged with the following:
- Fraud under $5,000 x7
- Criminal breach of trust x6
She was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
