A 44-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance.
On June 18, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. It was reported that a female had sustained minor injuries as a result of an assault. As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with spousal assault. He was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

A 39-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to reports of theft at local businesses.
On June 19, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., police responded to a report of theft at a business on ElginStreet West in the Town of Cobourg. Officers identified the suspect, and the investigation revealed that thesame individual had stolen merchandise from another nearby business earlier that morning. The suspect waslater located at a third store in the Strathy Road area.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested. During the arrest, police located aquantity of suspected fentanyl and recovered the stolen property.
The woman was charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000, two counts of Possession of Property Obtainedby Crime Under $5,000, two counts of Breach of Probation, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance. Theaccused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
