The Quinte Judo Club came home with three podium positions at the Peterborough Hatashita Open Judo Championships on Saturday June 20.
Roya Shafai would not settle for a third place finish in her senior brown/black belt division, so she signed up for another and ended both matches early with a perfect score.
In judo, throwing your opponent flatly on their back is the ultimate way to end a match early.
This was also a great way to finish off the season, as it is the last event until September.
Scott Morgan also brought home a silver medal when his veterans (+ 30 yrs) 90-kilo division was combined with the +100 kg.
Scott won his first match. Unfortunately, however, he had to pull out of his tie-breaking third match due to an injury.
The Quinte Judo club operates out of the Quinte Masonic Centre in Frankford, with an all-ages class.
