Brighton has released their May building statistics, showing construction is on the rise.
A total of 13 building permits were issued in May, compared to 10 in may of 2025. Out of those permits, 5 were for new homes, up from just one permit for a new home in may 2025. The total value of the permits was $4,399,000, an increase over last May’s total of $1,200,700.
While construction is up over last May, the total year to date construction is down. So far in 2026, 47 building permits have been issued in Brighton, down from 70 by this time in 2025. A total of 17 of this year’s permits are for new homes, down from 34 by this time last year.
The total value of construction so far in 2026 is $16,724,100, down from $103,268,700 at this time last year.
