A drug trafficking investigation by the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has resulted in charges against three individuals.
In April 2026, members of the East Region CSCU of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began a drug investigation with connections to the Frontenac, Lennox & Addington County and Kingston areas.
On May 13, 2026, officers conducted a traffic stop in Napanee in connection to the ongoing investigation. A little over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine and approximately $3,000 in Canadian currency was seized.
As a result, Lindsay PATTERSON, 41 years old, of South Frontenac Township was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime, under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Breach of recognizance
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, OPP East Region CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence in Whitby, with assistance from Durham Regional Police Tactical Unit.
Officers seized the following items:
- Two firearms loaded with ammunition
- Stolen Ford F-150
- Over 2000 g of suspected cocaine
- Approximately 4200 g of suspected methamphetamine
- Over 715 g of MDMA
- Suspected psilocybin, fentanyl and heroin
- Almost $14,000 in Canadian currency
- Cell phones
- Digital scales
- Other items associated with drug trafficking
As a result of the investigation, Tullaram NARAINE, 34 years old, and Lisa SEETARAM, 33 years old, both of Whitby were arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes – two counts
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
- Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
- Possession of a Restricted firearm with ammunition – two counts
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – heroin
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other
- Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – psilocybin
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, over $5000
- Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000
NARAINE is further charged with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – two counts
- Traffick in schedule I substance – methamphetamine
All three accused were held in custody for a bail hearing.
