Intimate Partner Violence
On May 15, 2026 at 10:22 a.m., Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. It was reported that a male and female were involved in a verbal altercation. Further information indicated that a previous dispute between the same individuals had escalated, with the male pushing the female.
As a result of investigation, a 30-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
Impaired Driver Evades RIDE Program
On May 16, 2026 at approximately 1 a.m., Belleville police were conducting a RIDE program in the city’s east end when officers observed a vehicle make a U-turn and accelerate quickly in the opposite direction. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle and a short time later found it on its side in a parking lot. Officers approached and began an investigation.
As a result of investigation, Kelvin Jones, a 39-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
Intimate Partner Violence
On May 17, 2026 at 9:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that a male and a female became involved in a verbal dispute which escalated when the male slapped the female. It was further reported that the male attempted to restrain the female to prevent her from leaving the residence.
As a result of investigation, a 19-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
He was held for a bail hearing.
