An oil leak in Prince Edward County on Tuesday, which impacted several roads.
The following statement was released by the municipality mid-day Tuesday.
- Operations staff have spread sand on sections of County Road 34, County Road 4, County Road 5, and County Road 6 to absorb the oil.
- The roads in this area may still be slippery for several hours.
- The source of the leak was found to be malfunctioning construction equipment from a private firm.
- Impacts were limited to the road surface and were contained. No impacts to the natural environment are anticipated.
