The Belleville Chamber of Commerce recognized the accomplishments of it’s members on Friday at their 162nd annual President’s Dinner and Cornerstone Awards.
This year’s event was held at the Belleville Ramada, with guests attending dressed as their dream career. Following the dinner was the award ceremony, where many local businesses and business-people were recognized for their contributions both to the chamber and the wider community.
Sandy Ramsay received this year’s President’s Recognition Award, for her dedicated support of the Board of Directors and Ontario Career Lab program as a frequent career coach.
This year’s Community Partner award went to the Belleville Senators Hockey Club, for their community impact through supporting local charities and with members serving as career coaches.
The Citzenship award was given to Lorrie Ostroskie, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, for her support of multiple causes that improve the lives of Belleville’s citizens.
This year’s Founder award was presented to Keith Watson, of Watson Land Surveyors, for his work expanding the business started by his father.
The Visionary award was presented to Campbell Monument, with their employee ownership model that has created a company fully owned by it’s employees.
Lastly, the Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Peter Kempenaar. A longstanding member of the chamber, he founded Taskforce Engineering with Dave Brown, after devoting many years to Bel-Con. His contributions to the Field of Ability and the Humane Society helped build foundations for the organizations to grow.
