There are two candidates so far for mayor of Prince Edward County.
Brad Nieman has filed papers to run for mayor in the upcoming 2026 municipal election after serving the last three terms as a councillor for Ward 2 – Bloomfield/Hallowell.
The only other person to file a nomination for the mayor’s chair so far is Ernie Margetson.
Margetson is a former councillor.
Steve Ferguson announced last month that he would not be seeking reelection.
