It seems local builders and potential home buyers are liking the HST rebate program offered by the federal and provincial governments.
Quinte West Councillor David O’Neil told the Quinte Economic Development Commission Thursday that construction companies were seeing a decided upswing in demand for new housing, especially single-family homes ever since the HST rebate was announced.
Depending on the type of home, the rebate could lead to a savings ranging from several thousand dollars to over $100,000 a unit.
