Downtown Belleville’s summer lineup of events is heating up as the award winning event “Savour the Heat” sees downtown chefs compete for first prize in the spicy food contest on Saturday, May 9 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
For $2 per cup, spice-curious attendees will get to sample a wide variety of entries from over 10 downtown Belleville restaurants located along Front Street and Pinnacle Street. Two awards will be presented to the winners: the Judges’ Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award.
Judges for the event will be announced through social media next week. Attendees will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award on the Downtown Belleville website, by scanning the QR code on the posters at each participating restaurant or in person at the Downtown Belleville booth.

Most entries are customizable on the “heat scale” from mild to as hot as you can handle. Whether you’re a heat-seeking daredevil or want to test your palette, Savour the Heat promises a culinary adventure for everyone.
