Prince Edward County is going to host a tree giveaway for county residents.
The giveaway will be taking place on Earth Day, May 2nd, at Prince Edward Community Centre, Wellington and District Community Centre, and Ameliasburgh Town Hall.
Residents will be able to collect up to 10 free saplings for planting on their property. Trees will be available on a first come first serve basis, and are only available to county residents. Residents will be asked to show proof of residency to receive the trees.
Residents are advised to bring a pail or bag to transport seedlings and keep the roots cool, dark, and moist. Trees should be planted as soon as possible.
