A pedestrian suffered significant injuries following a single vehicle collision in Ajax.
On Thursday at approximately 2:25 p.m., Durham Regional Police responded to a pedestrian-involved collision in the area of Harwood Avenue North and Rossland Road East. A Mini Cooper was travelling south on Harwood Avenue North when it collided with a female pedestrian in the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old female pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. The 48-year-old male driver remained on scene.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The roadway has since been reopened. The collision is still under investigation.
