With significant rainfall expected to continue through the week, the OPP are reminding drivers to be cautious while on the road.
The increased rainfall can create hazards on the road, including slick road conditions, reduced visibility, pooling water, and localized flooding. Water pooling on the roads can also cause washouts, hide debris, and result in road closures.
Drivers are being advised to slow down, leave extra space between your car and the vehicle in front of you, ensure all lights on your vehicle are on to improve visibility, avoid driving through flooded areas, and remain alert for road washouts, debris or other hazards.
Flood conditions can develop quickly and may present serious dangers to motorists. Drivers are encouraged to choose alternate routes or delay travel when conditions worsen.
